What to Expect at Friendly Avenue
A Welcoming Church
We are so glad you are considering visiting us! Driven by hospitality and a welcoming heart, we invite all our guests to stop by the Welcome Center in the lobby after the service. We would love to meet you and offer a small gift as an expression of our generosity and gratitude for worshiping with us. An Understanding Church
We understand that visiting a new church can feel unnerving or even scary. Our goal is to provide a space of loving care where you can feel at home and experience the peace of a Spirit-filled community. We want you to feel comfortable as you join our family of believers to Love, Learn, and Live in the way of Jesus.
An Independent Church
Friendly Avenue is a nondenominational church family led by locally appointed elders who hold a high view of the authority of Scripture. All our activities, practices, and beliefs are governed by God’s Word.
An Integrated Church
We are an integrated, bilingual community where English speakers and multigenerational Spanish-speaking families belong to one church. We believe the Spirit of God unites us as we Love God through worship, Learn as lifelong followers, and Live out our mission through service. Christ has torn down the wall of hostility between nations and nationalities, so we are able worship together in peace and partnership.
A Family Friendly Church
We are a church deeply committed to walking alongside families as we raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who love, learn, and live for Him. It is important that we provide a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment that encourages healthy spiritual growth for every age—from our Children’s Ministry through our Young Adult Ministry.
A Child Friendly Church
We provide a safe, nurturing environment where the youngest members of our family are cared for with a welcoming heart. Our Nursery (birth to 18 months) and Toddler Care (18–36 months) are available throughout the entire service beginning at 10:15 AM. We are committed to supporting parents as they raise children who learn to love God and others.
A Worshipful Church
Worship at Friendly Avenue is a participatory experience where we Love God through heartfelt praise. We choose to worship without a choir or band to leave room for the "voice of the believer" to be heard. We invite everyone to sing to the Lord and to one another, expressing together what the heart feels and the mind thinks.
A Communing Church
Every week, we gather around the Lord’s Table to share Communion as a central part of our fellowship. This meal is offered to all who belong to Christ; if you belong to Him, you belong with us as part of one church. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and a celebration of the free gift of grace.
A Caring Church
We believe in the power of prayer and loving care for one another. Following the sermon, our elders are available in the Prayer Room (located behind the glass windows at the back of the auditorium) to provide confidential spiritual support. Whether you seek prayer, wish to be baptized, or want to join our mission, we are here to walk alongside you.
