BENEVOLENCE

Contact: Nathan Hardiman

Ministry's Mission: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Target Population: Primary population is the Friendly Avenue family. Secondary is the community at large. Outside needs will be handled through the office.

Ministry Goals: Assist members and others with physical needs that they cannot handle themselves, such as temporary housing, utilities, food, medical, clothing, etc.

Ministry Responsibilities/Tasks: Food pantry, "Sack Day," Potter's House, and assisting with temporary assistance in areas of housing, utilities, food, medical needs, etc.

  • Potter's House: Once monthly, members prepare and serve a hot meal to the less fortunate through the Greensboro Urban Ministry. Two teams take turns serving every other month. Our Adult Sunday School classes donate funds each week to purchase the food that is served.
  • Food Pantry: Pick up one or more of the following items (canned or nonperishable) for the food boxes; or if you would like to supply a complete box, below is the packing list:
